HIGH POINT – Fifth-seeded High Point Christian Academy’s girls downed Village Christian 54-41 in the second round of the NCISAA 3A playoffs on Thursday.
Sydney Bell scored 16 points while Kennedy Powell had 15 points to lead the Cougars, who led 13-5 after one quarter and 32-8 at halftime. Kaitlin Hall added six points, while Rachel Yurko, Patricia Walz and Georgia Walls each had four points.
HPCA (16-7) advances to play at fourth-seeded Cape Fear Academy (17-7) in round three on Saturday at a time to be determined. The Knights finished 13-11.
